In the early stages of Lou’s cancer fight, she and her friends hosted a “Girls Night In” fundraiser for the Cancer Council and smashed all money raising records for any previous events of that kind. She spoke so well and displayed so much courage that The Cancer Council wanted her to be an ambassador. Unfortunately, she got sick and died so quickly that she didn’t fulfil that interest.

She so wanted to be a shining light as a cancer survivor.

She still is a shining light and represents confidence, positivity, courage, tenacity, strength and love.

Social media, emails, TVCs and old-school direct mail were flooded this week with a plethora of creative content with Lou and the children’s beautiful faces. Even Martin Place in the city was lit up in her honour.

A portion of the Cancer Council funds raised will go to triple-negative breast cancer research.

Daffodil Day 2023 has already raised over a million dollars and the day is not done.

It’s a nice feeling to know that Lou is supporting this initiative from where she rests.
