Single Parent Getting After It

“Do not indulge in dreams of having what you have not, but reckon the chief of the blessings you do posses, and then thankfully remember how you would crave for them if they were not yours”  -Marcus Aurelius

Do you remember my first day at school? I sure do. I remember being excited, yet scared, crying as you left. How quickly time has flown. Thank you for taking me to all my sports games, thank you for picking me up from places, thank you for taking me skiing, thank you for taking me overseas.

Thank you for teaching me your amazing character strengths like: Open-mindedness, vitality, leadership, humility and humour. And thank you for displaying your character strengths like: gratitude, appreciation of beauty, humility, citizenship, vitality, kindness, open mindedness, spirituality and perseverance.

Although you show all of these, I think the one that fits you best is courage. You’re always encouraging me to do things I normally wouldn’t do, telling me even if I stack or do it wrong, I’ll be fine and you’ll always be there to help. Thank you for always believing in me, no matter what

Thank you for dropping me at school every morning, thank you for making me lunch every morning, thank you for taking me to mates houses, thank you for taking me fishing, thank you for staying strong through tough times, thank you for taking me motorbike riding, thank you for taking me to Tim’s farm every Easter, thank you for buying me things, thank you for paying for our school fees. I can’t thank you enough.

Thank you for being with me from Kindy to Year Six. From when I won big blue awards, when I was voted as Vice Captain, my first day of school, and through when I had mates leave to other schools. Thank you. Thank you for staying strong when Mum died. I can’t thank you enough.

‘Thank you for everything, for teaching me your character strengths, for taking me to sports and overseas. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Love Noah
